NPC Friends & Family Scholarships

  AndyVon Academic Scholarship Award Amount: $1,065
This scholarship was established by anonymous donors, AndyVon, to support students from Federally Recognized Tribes who are enrolled at NPC in any program or major. The award amount is adjusted annually to reflect changes in inflation. Selection is based solely on the general application. Prior to the disbursement of funds, recipients are required to submit a photograph and a letter of appreciation to the donors.

NOTE: Awardee must write a letter of thanks to “Dear AndyVon”, and email it to npcff@npc.edu, before funds are disbursed to awardee. Scholarship recipients may re-apply for this award in subsequent academic years (not to exceed two consecutive semesters).

  AndyVon Baccalaureate Bound Scholarship Awarded to an NPC student who is a member of a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe – Navajo, Hopi, or White Mountain Apache*, who has graduated from Northland Pioneer College with an associate degree, and is entering a baccalaureate degree program at an accredited college or university in the fall semester following their NPC graduation.

  Arvin Palmer, Ph.D., Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established for graduates of Snowflake High School by the friends and family of Dr. Arvin Palmer, former Vice President of Northland Pioneer College, in memory of his life and in recognition of his enduring commitment to education and community service. $500 is awarded in the fall semester with the spring-semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress.

  Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000

  Charles E. Lisitzky Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
The Charles E. Lisitizky Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Charles E. Lisitizky, a longtime resident of Holbrook, Arizona, and a dedicated advocate for lifelong learning. This scholarship was created to support NPC students who are members of a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe as they pursue their college degrees.

  Claude Millet Endfield Early Childhood Development Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
Established by the friends of Claude Endfield to honor her long career and her service and devotion to NPC Early Childhood Education students and young children across Northern Arizona. $500 is awarded in the first semester with the second semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress.

  Corky Elikann Scholarship for Alchesay High School Award Amount: $2,000
This is scholarship is presented in loving memory of Corky Elikann by her family. Awarded to two graduating high school seniors from Alchesay High School, one young man and one young woman, who will be attending NPC in the fall semester following graduation. - $1000 awarded in the fall semester with the spring-semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress.

  Fill The Gaps Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
One scholarship to a student at each campus/center every semester. This award is for students who are receiving the Federal Pell grant and can demonstrate financial need.

  Golden Eagle Scholarship Award Amount: $2,000
This scholarship was established by former Executive Director of NPC Friends and Family Betsyann Wilson and her husband Ed, commemorating her retirement and honoring her years of service and dedication to Northland Pioneer College. Every year, the award honors a different Golden Eagle alumnus, public servant, or loved one.

  Jeanne Swarthout, Ph.D., Presidential Excellence Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
Established by friends of former NPC President Dr. Jeanne Swarthout, commemorating her retirement and honoring her career in education and her years of service and dedication to Northland Pioneer College.

  Jennifer Lee Witt Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the parents of Jennifer Lee Witt, former professor of English and Creative Writing at NPC, in memory of her and her devotion to the students of Northland Pioneer College.

  Joanne Thompson Memorial Scholarship for Cedar Hills Award Amount: $2,000
The Joanne Thompson Memorial Scholarship was established by the Cedar Hills Senior Center in loving memory of one of its founders, Joanne Thompson, a fiercely independent, talented, and capable “pioneer” lady. $1,000 awarded in the fall semester with the spring-semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress. 

• This scholarship is awarded to an NPC full-time student who is a resident of the Cedar Hills area: Old Woodruff Road and Snowflake/Taylor city limits to the west, and Highway 180A. Concho/Concho Valley limits to the east; Aztec Road to the south, and Woodruff/Hay Hollow Roads to the north.
• PLEASE INCLUDE: Two letters of recommendation must be attached. One recommendation is required from a high school or college instructor and one from a recommender of the applicant’s choice. Recommenders should reference the applicant by name in their letter.

  Jon Graff, Ph.D., College and Career Prep Scholarship Award Amount: $500

  Jon Graff, Ph.D., CTE Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the bequest of Dr. Jon Graff, a great champion of NPC students, and awards a student in an NPC Career and Technical Education Program.

• Applicants must have the recommendation of at least one representative from NPC faculty or high school faculty, as evidenced by a letter of support. Letters must be uploaded with application documents to the application form. 

  Jon Graff, Ph.D., University Bound Scholarship  Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the bequest of Dr. Jon Graff, a great champion of NPC students, and awards an NPC student who is ultimately pursuing University Transfer.

• Applicants must have the recommendation of at least two individuals, including NPC faculty or staff or high school faculty or staff, as evidenced by letters of support.

  KGJ Roofing Scholarship - Building Futures One Roof at a Time!  Award Amount: $3,000
This scholarship is presented by KGJ Roofing as their way of giving back to the White Mountain Community! One award per year to a graduating high school senior who will be attending NPC in the fall semester following graduation and pursuing a certification or degree in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) field.

  Leg Up Scholarship Award Amount: $3,000
This NPC Friends & Family scholarship prioritizes need and is awarded to a student from each location every semester.

• You must have CURRENT written proof from the NPC Financial Aid Office that you are NOT eligible to receive the Federal PELL grant. Please request and obtain this proof (financial aid denial letter) before applying for this scholarship.
• If you are unable to complete the FAFSA, due to circumstances beyond your control, please contact Jesse Reeck at 928-532-6145 prior to submitting your application.

 Martin Lucas Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
Established by the family and friends of Martin Lucas in honor of his servant’s heart, dedication to the community, and special empathy for those whose lives are affected by disabilities.

  Mary Kay Smith Lindy Nursing Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the family of Mary “Kay” Smith Lindy in memory of her lifelong career as a nurse and provides $1,000/semester toward tuition, books, fees, and related expenses to a student who is a member of a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe and enrolled in the NPC Nursing Program for the academic year.

  Michael T. Mariner Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
The proud family of Michael T. Mariner established this memorial scholarship to a student in CIS or another computer-related degree. Michael T. Mariner was a 1985 graduate of Northland Pioneer College with an Associate of Applied Science in Business/Computer Science. He received a Special Commendation Award during graduation for his commitment and persistence to successfully reach his educational goal. He was admired for his courage and willingness to apply humor regardless of his limitations.

  Newman Family Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $500
This scholarship is established by Shannon Newman, in loving memory of her husband, William Newman, and her daughter, Fiona Kim Newman.

$500 awarded in the fall semester with a spring-semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress.

  NPC On The House Scholarship - Courtesy of The House Restaurant Award Amount: $2,200
This scholarship is presented to an NPC-bound graduating senior from each of Blue Ridge, Show Low, and Snowflake high schools by The House of Show Low as their way to give back to our White Mountain Communities!

$1,100 awarded in the fall semester with a spring-semester award based on continued satisfactory academic progress.

• Three graduating high school seniors who will be attending NPC in the fall semester following graduation will be awarded per year: One from Blue Ridge, one from Show Low, and one from Snowflake High School.
• Two letters of recommendation must be attached. One recommendation is required from a high school or college instructor and one from a recommender of the applicant’s choice. Recommenders should reference the applicant by name in their letter.

  Pres Winslow Memorial Scholarship Award Amount: $1,000
Established by the family of Prescott Winslow in memory of his devotion to the students of Winslow High School and Northland Pioneer College.

  Summit Healthcare Foundation Nursing Scholarship  Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the Summit Healthcare Foundation to assist NPC nursing students who are currently accepted for or enrolled in the NPC Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program with expenses related to their educational programs.

  Taking Flight Scholarship in Memory of Dr. Eric B. Henderson  Award Amount: $1,500

  The Jean Elizabeth Nursing Scholarship  Award Amount: $1,250
This scholarship was established by husband and wife, Scott and Jennifer, the son and daughter of two amazing nurses, in memory of their careers of caring and healing.

  The White Mountain Commissioned Officers Association - In the Service of Health Scholarship  Award Amount: $1,000
This scholarship was established by the White Mountain Commissioned Officers Association of the US Public Health Service. It is awarded to an NPC student who is a member of a Federally Recognized Indian Tribe and is enrolled in a HEALTHCARE-RELATED NPC degree program for the academic year.

  Tim Shove Memorial Scholarship for Round Valley High School Award Amount: $1,000
The Tim Shove Memorial Scholarship for Round Valley High School graduates was established by Terry L. Shove in memory of her husband, Tim, in honor of his lifelong devotion to education.

• Must be a current year graduate of Round Valley High School planning to attend NPC full-time.

  US Military Veterans Scholarship Award Amount: $500
This scholarship is awarded by NPC Friends & Family and recognizes the service and sacrifice of US Military Veterans, their spouses, and dependents.

• This scholarship is for VA students: US Military Veterans, their spouses, or their dependents – All Chapters eligible Veteran students NOT using GI Bill© educational benefits.
• YOU MUST submit all required VA documentation to the NPC VA Certifying Official at veterans@npc.edu.

  White Mountain Women's Club Scholarships Award Amount: $3,400 
This scholarship is provided by the White Mountain Women's Club and is awarded to 2 students every year who are attending full-time at the White Mountain/Show Low Campus.

$1700 per semester, based on continued eligibility. This scholarship may not be combined with any other NPCFF scholarships.

  White Mountain Women’s Club Doris Powers Scholarship Award Amount: $1,200
This scholarship is provided by the White Mountain Women's Club in honor of longtime member Doris Powers and her devotion to her friends, the Club, the community, and education. Recipient must attend classes at NPC's White Mountain Campus. 

  Whiteriver Lodge #62 CTE Scholarship Award Amount: $500
