High school students in NPC's service area have a fantastic opportunity: FREE COLLEGE! NPC partners with many local area high schools to provide free college-level classes to high school students. Some of the classes take place within the high school and others at an NPC location. Students simultaneously earn both college credit AND credit toward their high school diploma. Best of all, the program covers the cost of the student's tuition, fees and transportation if needed and books! (students may be responsible for supplies/deposits)

Northland Pioneer College offers two programs:
NPC partners with several area vocational high school districts, including Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (NAVIT) to provide career-training courses. Students study specialized training in a selected career area and can earn industry certifications. Each program corresponds with an NPC associate degree that gives high school students a definite advantage in the job market after graduation.
Available areas of study include: automotive technology, business, computer information systems, construction, cosmetology, early childhood studies, energy and industrial technician, film and digital video, fire science, medical assistant, nursing assistant and welding. (*Not all programs are available in all areas. Check with your local high school for availability.)
It is even possible for dedicated high school students to graduate with an NPC associate degree AND a high school diploma at the same time! Students can complete the general education degree requirements not offered by their vocational program through our dual enrollment program (see next tab for details).
Whether you are planning on directly entering the workforce, university bound or simply not sure where life will take you after high school, take advantage of FREE college tuition and earn your associate degree! Most vocational programs run during a high school student's junior and senior year. Speak to your high school guidance counselor about what is available in your area.

NPC has two dual enrollment options available to current high school students. Both allow students to earn credit toward their high school diploma AND college credit at the same time! Dual enrollment classes fulfill general education requirements for an associate degree and university transfer. Courses include: English, geography, geology, history, math, psychology, science, sociology, Spanish and more.
- Where available, students can take NPC dual enrollment classes through their high school. All tuition, fees, books and supply costs are covered! Students attend NPC classes during the regular school day either at their high school or are transported to an NPC campus/center location. Ask your high school guidance counselor what is available through your school.
- High school students can also enroll in NPC dual enrollment classes outside of their normal high school hours, on their own at any NPC location. Evening and summer classes are popular options. To help with costs, NPC offers a College Bound scholarship that waives the cost of tuition for students who qualify, as well as the Fast Track and Finish Line scholarships. An NPC academic adviser can assist you in applying for these scholarships.
It's possible for dedicated high school students to graduate with an NPC associate degree AND a high school diploma at the same time! With proper planning, students can complete their associate degree requirements through NPC's dual enrollment program.
All dual enrollment instructors are NPC faculty with at least a master's degree, certified to teach at the college level in their field. Many of the courses offered meet the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) and are guaranteed to transfer to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona.
