- What if I don’t have or know my NPC login credentials?
If you are not yet an NPC student, apply to NPC at www.mynpc.edu. Allow 3 business days to receive your credentials. If you have forgotten your NPC credentials, contact the Support Center at 928-524-7447 or support@npc.edu. - What is my FAFSA Submission Summary?
You receive a FAFSA Submission Summary after completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Pages 1 & 2 of your Summary shows your Student Aid Index (SAI). We can also accept a letter from NPC's Financial Aid Office documenting your eligibility for federal financial aid. Complete your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and access your Submission Summary at: www.studentaid.gov - Do I have to complete the FAFSA to apply for NPCFF scholarships?
Yes, the FAFSA is required to apply for NPCFF scholarships. Not all scholarships require that you are eligible for federal financial aid, but all require a complete application. We want students to maximize their potential assistance. Here’s a link for lots of information about FAFSA and financial aid at NPC: https://www.npc.edu/financial-aid-scholarships - How do I access my unofficial transcripts?
Your most recent unofficial transcripts can come either from your high school or from NPC. NPC transcripts can be accessed and printed from MyNPC: https://mynpc.npc.edu/ics. Please use a computer, not a mobile device, when accessing your NPC transcripts to ensure all needed information will be displayed. Students without a transcript can submit a degree audit/plan (see academic advisor). - Do I have to get letters of recommendation to apply?
Letters of recommendation are only required for certain scholarships. If you qualify for a scholarship that requires a letter of recommendation, you will be prompted in AwardSpring to enter recommenders’ contact information and they will receive an email with instructions on how to submit their recommendation. Be sure to ask your recommenders if they are willing to complete the recommendation prior to entering their information in AwardSpring. - Do I have to write an essay to apply?
The General Application includes 4 short-answer questions (50 – 150 words) rather than a single long essay. These short answers will be assessed by the review committee, and this is where they really get to know you as a student and applicant.I nclude as much detail as possible to help reviewers understand your passion, commitment, resourcefulness, and need. If you are applying at least 10 days before the final deadline and you would like NPCFF staff to review your short answer responses, please email a draft of your answers to npcff@npc.edu. - If a scholarship says it is “need based,” can I still apply for it, even if I don’t qualify for financial aid?
Yes! Lots of students who don’t qualify for financial aid actually have great need. Just be sure to clearly explain your need for the scholarship in the short answer responses. - Can I apply for more than one scholarship? Do I have to complete a separate application for every scholarship I apply for?
The new NPC Friends and Family application through AwardSpring allows you to be automatically placed into consideration for all NPC Friends and Family scholarships for which you meet the criteria. After completing the General Application, any scholarships requiring additional materials will appear on your dashboard as a task to complete (letters of recommendation, other short-answer or essay questions, etc.). Each applicant can win up to two NPC Friends and Family scholarships per semester. - If I am awarded a scholarship, when will I get the money?
Most NPCFF scholarships are disbursed by the NPC Financial Aid Office (928-524-7318) near the start of the semester. The scholarship will be applied first to any balance on your NPC student account. The remainder will be disbursed to you in the way you choose to receive funds: https://bankmobiledisbursements.com/refundchoices/ . - If I don’t win a scholarship, can I apply for it again?
Yes! NPCFF scholarships are awarded every semester for the upcoming semester. The application window to apply for Fall NPCFF scholarships opens March 1 every year and closes around April 15. The application window to apply for Spring NPCFF scholarships opens October 1 every year and closes around November 15. All applicants are notified of the outcome of their submissions about two weeks after the closing date. This allows you to plan for semester registration. - If I win a scholarship, can I apply for it again?
Yes, but there is a limit to the number of consecutive semesters in which you can apply. Most awards are limited to 4 consecutive semesters. - If I withdraw from my classes, will I have to pay back my scholarship?
No, but you will not be able to apply for NPCFF scholarships again in future semesters. If you drop below the required number of credits for the scholarships, the NPC Business Office will not disburse your award. Please contact us at npcff@npc.edu with specific questions if you find yourself in this situation.
