Associate Dean of Education & College and Career Preparation

Valid driver's license.
Arizona Adult Education Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 mo. of hire.
- M.A. in English, Education, Reading, Mathematics, or Bachelor’s degree with experience in basic skills instruction and documented teaching experience.
- Teach developmental courses in reading, writing, math, and study skills including literacy, ABE, HSE and college preparation courses. Load equals 30 credit hours per academic year.
- Initiate and maintain community and in-house liaisons for student recruitment and retention.
- Assist with placement and registration of developmental students.
- Assist with on-going development of overall program and curriculum.
- Assume primary responsibility for on-going development and coordination of one curriculum area.
- Utilize and manage technology-assisted instruction.
- Serves as campus point-of-contact and coordinator of all developmental activities, including Learning Assistants.
- Manage campus activities related to grants and contracts including
- Provide instructional coaching for adjunct faculty and staff at home campus and at least one other site, as assigned.
- Mentor part-time and new faculty.
- Assist with program coordination at special sites.
- Attend meetings, workshops, training sessions, and conferences as required.
- Participate on college, state and other program-related committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Interact effectively with developmental students to promote learning.
- Ability to utilize instructional technology to both instruct and support student learning.
- Work effectively with colleagues.
- Assimilate unique cultural and organizational situations.
- Develop and manage a program of individualized instruction and use computerized instruction.
