Initial salary range of $43,443 to $52,132 depending on education and experience.

Reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

To play an integral part in the promotion of the college within and without the service area; to utilize recognized methods of communicating information to the community; to ensure a service-oriented unit ready to assist all district departments; to assist in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the district Marketing & Public Relations Office and to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
- Quickly develops copy, images/video for media releases; establishes timely distribution dates; sends releases to appropriate outlet: newspapers, magazines, radio, television, social media.
- Plans and writes feature stories about college students, staff, class offerings and other special interest items in a style that supports NPC’s marketing objectives. This includes content and layout for the Education page in the White Mountain Independent, two times per year.
- As assigned, writes, edits and produces copy for Marketing publications by deadline including CareerFocus magazine, college catalog, ads, Eagle Briefs, brochures, fliers and more.
- Schedules interviews, photoshoots and verifies information.
- Reviews, proofreads, and edits college-wide written materials as needed.
- Helps produce short videos about college students, staff, class offerings and other special interest items in a style that supports NPC’s marketing objectives.
- Videos and photographs college-related events and activities as assigned.
- Maintains an archive (both electronic and physical) of distributed media releases, as well as physical clips of published NPC articles in compliance with state law. Organizes and maintains searchable digital image catalog of college photographs, videos and graphics.
- Attends District Governing Board meetings as directed by the Marketing Director and writes press releases on important discussions or decisions made by the board.
- Coordinates with college All-Arizona Academic Team nominator on scholarship promotion. Interviews and photographs winners, writes bios and produces press releases by deadline.
- Prepares legal notices, such as RFPs, RFQu’s, Invitations for Bids, Truth in Taxation Notices, Budgets and Calls/Notice of Election, and schedules publication in compliance with state law.
- Utilizes desktop and video publishing techniques/software to produce college publications, including fillable PDF college forms.
- Supervises work produced by Website Content Specialist. Writes, posts and produces content for NPC’s public web site.
- Works with part-time Marketing Writer, coordinating story coverage and writing assignments.
- Manages large college mailings such as CareerFocus and postcards. Stays current on US postal regulations to ensure NPC saves money and follows proper procedures.
- Assists the Director of Marketing with nonemergency student texting as needed.
- Helps alert public, staff and students regarding closures or other emergencies at NPC locations via various communications methods.
- Assists the college’s Public Information Officer (PIO) in dealing with the press and coordinating the release of information.
- Helps coordinate printing projects with outside vendors and completes requisitions for department purchases.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Proficiency in operation of word processing, photographic imaging, video production, desktop publishing, web content applications, photographic and recording equipment and other related auxiliary equipment. Sound oral, written and editorial communication skills; ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
