Initial salary range of $39,674 – $47,608, depending on education and experience.

Director of Student Services
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required verification document upon hire.
Valid driver's license.
- Master’s degree in career counseling or a related field.
- Two (2) years’ experience working in an educational setting with students, or in an industrial employment setting.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Two (2) years related experience.
- Positively supports and promotes college’s governing board, administrators, faculty, staff, students and communities.
- Assists students with career assessment, job application, resume writing, and other activities to prepare for employment.
- Promote and markets NPC students and former students to potential employers.
- Coordinates with local employers, vocational services and placement centers to optimize employment and internship opportunities for current students and alumni.
- Compiles records of students who received services, and employment rates achieved, for internal college assessment purposes as well as reporting to outside entities.
- Furnishes potential employers with information regarding technical and academic preparation of students who complete NPC programs and gain national certifications.
- Gathers information from all sources, including NPC faculty and advisory committees, regarding employment markets in local, regional, and major metropolitan areas, and uses the data to help students and alumni target their job searches.
- Provides career services information to the general public and students through direct contact and via the College website.
- Travels to NPC campuses and sites to meet with students for career preparation advisement.
- Coordinates periodic job fairs with co-sponsors bv CTE career field.
- Assists with outreach and recruitment activities.
- Refers students to appropriate offices to resolve academic and non-academic concerns or issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Excellent writing and proofreading skills. Knowledge of industry in the western region, and the employers’ career and technical education requirements for employees. Knowledge of online job search resources, social media, and techniques for developing effective online applications. Skill in communicating and building cooperative working relationships with employers in the region and state. Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with faculty and other College employees. Ability to relate effectively with students and the public. Counseling/advising skills. Skill in assessing career or vocational interest. Knowledge of techniques for using social media for employment searches. Skill in working with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of technology.
