Initial salary range of $46,237 to $57,500 depending on education and experience.

Department Chair for Early Childhood within Arts and Sciences Division
Valid Arizona driver's license
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood;
- Five years’ experience teaching adults in a higher education setting;
- Five years’ experience teaching in, or administering, an early childhood program;
- Previous grant coordination experience.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or a related field with a minimum of 24 credits in early childhood;
- The ability to obtain “Instructor Status”: with the Arizona Early Childhood Registry;
- Three years teaching experience with adults.
- Plan and implement selected courses to small group cohorts in local communities of the Navajo Nation.
- Provide participants with individualized coaching to assist in practical application of learning.
- Coordinate scheduling of courses with cohorts locations, student adviser/recruiter, and appropriate college departments.
- Provide effective stewardship of grant project funds and meet regularly with college grant officer.
- Provide individualized student advisement in partnership with the grant recruiter/adviser.
- Conduct ongoing outreach activities throughout the project service area in partnership with the grant recruiter/adviser.
- Coordinate all grant services under the direction of the Early Childhood Department Chair
- Represent the college and department (not just the grant) at community events and meetings, including the Navajo Nation Early Childhood Coalition.
- Maintain accurate student records and comply with Registrar Office deadlines.
- Participate in college and early childhood department functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to teach adults; knowledge of child development, specifically infant-toddler mental health; working knowledge of developmentally effective early childhood curriculum; ability to use technology including computers, distance learning technology, video conferencing, and recording equipment; ability to establish sound pedagogy and cooperative working relationships in a diverse, multi-cultural environment; and ability to travel long distances.
