Initial salary range of $38,896 to $46,674 per year depending on education and experience.

- Master’s degree
- Knowledge of academic programs, financial assistance/academic eligibility, policies and procedures, recruiting practices
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two years related experience
To provide academic advisement to prospective and current students concerning all college programs, degree requirements, testing, transfer and student activities. Perform a variety of public service functions to enhance college educational programs; have a positive working relationship with faculty, staff and students.
- Provide access to information and academic advising to students concerning registration, course selection, scholarships, financial aid, graduation requirements, career goals, placement testing and students with disabilities referral.
- Assist students with post-secondary planning and transfer activities
- Refer students to appropriate offices for specialized services
- Coordinate with Campus/Center Manager to provide a student friendly registration process
- Facilitate training of temporary registration advisors
- Refer and distribute information to students with disabilities requesting accommodations
- Perform duties as program advisor to students in specialized programs as required
- Coordinate placement testing during registration and administer testing services throughout the semester.
- Provide coordination and assistance for graduation ceremony as required
- Serve on departmental and college committees as assigned
- Teach SOAR (Student Orientation) as assigned
- Perform related duties and secondary assignments as assigned
Effective and efficient advising of students in appropriate education and career goals/objectives. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with staff, faculty, students and family members, community representatives and general public. Ability to read and comprehend the English language sufficiently in order to understand written and verbal information. Computer literacy in Word and email and ability to use the college administrative system.
