Increase your self-defense skills through a new one-day noncredit class at Northland Pioneer College’s (NPC’s), White Mountain Campus in Show Low. The class will be held on Saturday, November 6 in NPC’s Aspen Center room 111.
“This is not just a kick and punch class,” notes course instructor John Accardo. “We will cover how to think defensively both for basic and advanced self-defense using pressure point techniques, grabs, chokes, weapon defense and more.” Accardo, has been practicing and teaching self-defense for 47 years and proudly carries a 6-degree black belt. In fact, Accardo studied under the same Korean Grand Master as Chuck Norris, who once lived in Globe for a period of time. Now a Grand Master himself, Accardo will teach NPC’s Saturday morning class from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There is a $12.00 fee and you must be at least 14 years old to participate.
Participants should wear loose clothing, comfortable athletic shoes (no boots), and no jewelry. The class will consist of ten students who will experience a “master’s touch” course in self-defense to use on attackers when necessary.
