Learn the basics of critical thinking, logic and rhetoric in a noncredit Current Events Round-Table class on Thursdays, February 7 through April 4, at Northland Pioneer College’s Show Low Campus from 2 to 3:30 p.m., and at the Snowflake/Taylor Campus from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There is a $35 charge for the class.
Instructor Dr. Gerald Hunsicker will lead discussions covering current events in politics, education, economics, culture, religion and controversial issues and problems in the news. Students will be able to choose any topic to discuss. “The focus will be on understanding the subject through rigorous application of argument, critical thinking and logic,” notes Dr. Hunsicker. “The end result will be how the truth of the matter affects each student participating.”
Dr. Hunsicker is a retired university professor of philosophy and political science. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in a wide variety of subjects over the years.
There will be no class March 14 when the college is closed for spring break.
