Finding a job in the 21st Century requires a different set of tools. Get help preparing your toolbox with FREE Career Readiness Workshops, led by Northland Pioneer College Career Services Manager John Spadaccini, at the St. Johns Public Library and the NPC campuses in Holbrook and Snowflake/Taylor.
Open to the general public, current NPC students and alumni, the five-week series covers career assessment; preparation of resumés and cover letters; setting up a LinkedIn professional social media account; career fair and interview preparation; and concluding with seasonal career fairs with federal, state and regional employers available at each location.
All workshops will be weekly from 5 to 6 p.m., with the career fairs from 2 to 5 p.m. You do not need to attend every workshop, however, Spadaccini encourages participation at all five sessions.
Holbrook sessions will be on Tuesdays, August 28 through September 25, at the NPC Holbrook campus, 2251 E. Navajo Blvd., in the Skills Center, room 104, with the career fair in the Nizoni Learning Center lobby.
St. Johns Public Library, 35 S. 3rd W., sessions will be on Wednesdays, August 22 through September 26. There will be no workshop on September 5.
Sessions will be on Thursdays on the NPC Snowflake/Taylor Campus, 1611 S. Main St., August 30 through September 27. Workshops will be in the Learning Center, room 112, with the Career Fair in the Performing Arts Center.
The series will be offered on Tuesdays in October at the NPC Center in Whiteriver, from 10 a.m. to Noon, and the Round Valley Public Library in Eagar from 4 to 5 p.m.
