SHOW LOW — “Living healthier longer starts with what you put in your mouth,” says Pamela Lizardi, instructor for a series of new, noncredit Get Healthy workshops at Northland Pioneer College’s Show Low – White Mountain Campus on Saturdays, from 9 to 11 a.m., this spring.
Using herself as an example, Lizardi tells others, “You can start down the path to healthy living at any age. You are NOT stuck in the skin you are in!” At age 51, and recognizing she had the same age-related health conditions that had killed her parents and was diagnosed in her younger brother, she started using the techniques she will be sharing in her classes. In just 17 months, “I had lost 54 pounds, 60 inches, and I was able to walk up and down stairs by myself, which I hadn’t done in six years,” adds Lizardi.
“I slept through the night and the stuff in my blood (that had resulted in her parents’ death) was gone. Feeling great, I started walking, riding bikes and doing yoga. It is now my dream to help others Live Healthier Longer,” she said.
Each class in the Get Healthy series is $40. Students need to bring material for taking notes.
Want to beat stress? Lizardi shares science-backed methods of regular exercise, mediation and hormone balancing in her Effects of Stress on Your Health workshop on April 14 (reference HPE 099x-16). “The effects of stress to our physiology can lead to increased visceral fat and insulin resistance, along with a host of other impacts to our health,” she continues. “Learn how adaptogens botanicals naturally protect against stress.”
The spring series concludes on May 5 with Intermittent Fasting or Cleanse (reference HPE 099x-18). “If you’ve been struggling losing weight, it’s time to try something that works efficiently,” said Lizardi. “This course is all you need to lose weight fast and greatly improve your overall health.”
She explains, “I’ve lost 54 pounds, 60 inches and reduced my A1C to normal levels. I’ve helped lots of folks change their lifestyles to live healthier longer.”
She invites all to learn how intermittent fasting can give numerous health benefits, including weight reduction and improvement of brain function.
