Borrowers are responsible for items checked out on their card. Patrons whose accounts have accrued fines of $5.00 or more may not check out any items until the fines have been paid down below $5.00.
NOTE: Fines of $5.00 or more must be paid within 30 days, otherwise an additional non-refundable $5.00 processing fee will be added to the account and a hold will be placed on the patron's college account.

Renewals:
- Books, Videos, and DVDs may be renewed online by logging into your Library Catalog account ("My Account") using the "My Checkouts" feature.
- You may also bring the item to any NPC library or phone the library and provide the complete title and NPC library barcode number.
- Items may be renewed twice.
- Items cannot be renewed if there is a Hold/Request on the item, or if the borrower owes $5.00 or more.
Returns:
- Items can be returned at any NPC library. Place items in labeled return areas. Do not lay on the desk.
- Outside book returns are available at most locations.
Recalls:
- If a borrowed item is due or late and someone has requested it, a recall notice will be sent.
- Item should be returned immediately.
- A late fee of $3.00 per day will be charged with a maximum fee of $21.00. Grace period of 3 days before fee is charged. The grace period does not apply to Reserves – fees begin immediately.
Hold Requests:
- Requests for items owned by NPC are made via the online Library Catalog.
- Click on the Hold/Request icon in the Copy Tab. Fill out the form. Barcode from your library card is required.
- When library contacts you that item has arrived, please pick it up immediately. Items not picked up within 5 days will be returned to the shelf.
Lost:
- Borrowers must pay $5.00 plus the replacement costs.
- Fines/fees of $5.00 or more not paid within 21 days are charged an additional non-refundable $5.00 processing fee, and a hold will be placed on the patron's college account.
Damaged:
- Borrowers must pay a minimum $2.00 fee for each item requiring repair.
- If not repairable, borrowers will be charged $5.00 plus the replacement cost.
- Fines/fees of $5.00 or more not paid within 21 days are charged an additional non-refundable $5.00 processing fee, and a hold will be placed on the patron's college account.
Computer Printouts:

No charge for FAFSA and e-cashier pages
No charge for NAVIT students with their NPC ID card
Scan to Email:
$1.00 for every ten (10) pages
Interlibrary Loan:
Requests are free for NPC students/staff
