Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree and three years administrative or supervisor experience.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified or complete certification within 12 months of date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of higher education principles and mission desirable.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides advice, guidance and counsel to students concerning academic endeavors such as registration, course selection, scholarships, financial aid, graduation and career goals.
  2. Participates in student recruiting programs/activities.
  3. Prepares class lists; school notifications.
  4. Directs and assists with registration activities.
  5. Determines, with the agreement of the Division Dean/Director, classes and schedules classes each semester, which includes locating sites and scheduling equipment.
  6. Communicates with instructors regarding all aspects of classes, students and materials.
  7. Evaluates and handles student requests, or refers to proper district level authority.
  8. Performs duties for placement testing as required.
  9. Contacts Division Deans/Directors with possibilities for instructors, initiates certification process and follows up on certification and payroll activities.
  10. Provides orientation for new instructors.
  11. Supervises staff assigned to the site.
  12. Notifies the administration regarding difficulties with students, faculty or public relations.
  13. Observes classes and refers problems to Division Deans/Directors.
  14. Schedules/supervises daily operation as to staffing, A/V, class operations, courier and materials preparation.
  15. Attend campus-wide meetings and task forces.
  16. Researches complaints from students, faculty and community and responds to District personnel.
  17. Meets and greets public, including assisting students or prospective students.
  18. Responsible for cash deposits and accounts received.
  19. Maintains inventory of office and custodial supplies.
  20. Orders supplies as needed.
  21. Directs on-line computer activities.
  22. Updates computer listings, as necessary.
  23. Requests maintenance and repair of physical facilities
  24. Makes public appearances to promote the college and provide public information
  25. Performs other duties as assigned

Skills Required

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications; basic bookkeeping; basic office equipment and sound oral and written communication skills especially as it relates to the interpretation of policies and procedures.  Management and/or supervisory skills.  Ability to interact effectively and positively with students, staff and public. Ability to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment. Ability to read and comprehend the English language sufficiently in order to understand and create written and verbal information.

Valid Arizona driver's license

Compensation

Initial salary range of $35,645 to $42,774, depending on education and experience.
