Degrees Offered
What Degrees does NPC offer?
Associate Degrees
NPC currently offers degrees in Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Arts in Elementary Education (AAEE), Associate of Business (AB), and the Associate of Science (AS). These degrees are designed for students planning to transfer into four-year college or university programs. The general education requirements for these four degrees are specifically designed to transfer to Arizona's public universities, fulfilling their lower division general education requirements.
General Studies Degrees
The College also offers an Associate of General Studies (AGS) degree intended for non-majors seeking greater flexibility in planning their education. Additionally, AGS degrees in Early Childhood Management, Early Childhood Preschool, Early Childhood Infant/Toddler, and Special Needs Educational Assistant provide students the flexibility of meeting work-related course mandates while pursuing general education courses that may serve as a foundation for a bachelor's degree. Although many courses within these programs may transfer to a four-year college or university, students should not assume that all do.
Vocational/Technical Degrees
The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and the Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) degrees are awarded at the completion of programs designed to prepare graduates for employment. Certificates of Proficiency (CP) and Certificates of Completion (CRT) are also awarded in certain occupation-specific programs. The scope of Current AAS program degrees and certificates are found in the attached checklist. Specific details on these programs and how to earn a degree or certificate are found under Programs by Departments.
A listing of the courses developed for instruction at the the college is located under NPC courses. The when and where these classes are offered in the current semester will be found at the Class Schedule. And the information you need to become an NPC student and steps you need to take to obtain one of these degrees is in the PDF version of our current College Catalog.
While courses of study are available in 86 different areas, not all degree programs are offered at every NPC location. Consult with an academic advisor about offerings at your campus or center, or information about a housing assistance scholarship if you need to re-locate to attend specific classes.
