
The Photography Technician program prepares graduates to apply technical skills and aesthetics in photography. Salaried jobs for photographers are found, for the most part, in photographic or commercial art studios. About half of all photographers and camera operators are self-employed. Many are freelance photographers who do individual projects on a one-time only or occasional basis. Related occupations include visual artists, illustrators, designers, painters, sculptors, and graphic communications technicians.
The Photography Technician program is currently only available at the White Mountain Campus in Show Low.
Three levels of learning are available in the Photography
Technician program:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) • 64 credits
- Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) • 33 credits
- Certificate of Proficiency (CP) • 16.5 to 21 credits
