Medical Assistant (MDA)

The Medical Assistant Program provides training in basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Training also
includes courses in:

Administration:

software application
word processing
medical transcription
insurance billing
and coding
medication administration

Laboratory:

phlebotomy (drawing blood)
electrocardiography
vital sign measurement
preparation for physical
and specialty exams

This program meets or exceeds the Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners training requirements.

There are two learning levels in the Medical Assistant program:

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) • 64 credits
Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) • 36 credits
