Medical Assistant (MDA)

The Medical Assistant Program provides training in basic anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Training also
includes courses in:

Administration:
  • software application
  • word processing
  • medical transcription
  • insurance billing
    and coding
  • medication administration
       

Laboratory:

  • phlebotomy (drawing blood)
  • electrocardiography
  • vital sign measurement
  • preparation for physical
    and specialty exams

This program meets or exceeds the Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners training requirements.


There are two learning levels in the Medical Assistant program:

  1. Associate of Applied Science (AAS) • 64 credits
  2. Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) • 36 credits
