Heavy Equipment Operations (HQO)

You will be exposed to the entire heavy equipment operations environment from safety, to daily inspections, to proper start-ups and shut downs. Find specialized training in how to operate equipment such as a dozer, backhoe, skid-steer, roller, forklift, crane, dump truck, and motor grader.

This NPC program is designed to teach you incremental levels of heavy equipment operations skills for any of three levels of NPC certification. And successful completion of these levels enables you to go on to obtain nationally recognized certifications on specific pieces of equipment, proof to potential employers of your skills in the field of heavy equipment operations.

There are three learning levels in the Heavy Equipment Operations (HQO) program:

  1. Associate of Applied Science (AAS) • 64 credits
  2. Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) • 30 credits
  3. Certficate of Proficiency (CP) • 12, 13 or 14 credits
          depending on the selected area of study
