These traits are critical for career success in this field, and NPC's cosmetology program can help you make the most of your talents. And your training takes place in excellent facilities with dedicated and talented instructors.
The NPC Cosmetology program features the 1600 hours of training necessary to qualify for the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology licensure examination. Classes meet 10.5 months beginning around August 1 and ending mid-June, eight hours a day, five days per week. Classes are available at three locations — the Winslow and Show Low campuses and at the St. Johns Center.
Admissions are granted for either full- or part-time students. All prospective students must submit an 2011-12 application to the program and successfully complete a pre-admission interview. Three levels of learning are available in the Cosmetology program
- The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) • 68 credits
- The Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) • 58 credits
- The Certificate of Proficiency (CP) • 16, 18 or 52 credits

- Cosmetology • 52 credits
- Nail Technician • 18 credits
- Cosmetology Instructor • 16 credits
(NOTE: Applicants with the goal of earning the CP in Cosmetology Instructor must have a current Arizona cosmetology license AND one year of experience.)
