Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) studies

EMR certification and recertification courses are both available at Northland Pioneer College on an as needed basis.

  • EMT 120 Emergency Medical Responder is a 3-credit lecture/lab course (approximately 56 hours of class time) concentrating on basic skills of life-saving interventions for critical patients. CPR is not a prerequisite for the EMT 120 as this training is included in the course. There is no minimum age limit to enroll in this course.
  • EMT 121 Emergency Medical Responder Refresher is a 1-credit lab/lecture course (approximately sixteen hours of class time) designed to meet the recertification requirements of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for first responders..
