SNOWFLAKE — Children, ages five to 12, can create fun and quick holiday crafts during two free Discovery Nest craft activities at Northland Pioneer College’s Snowflake/Taylor – Silver Creek Campus library on Friday, December 14 and 21, between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

NPC Librarian Luann Crosby will guide the creation of an “explosive” gift box, where the sides “explode” when the lid is removed, on Friday, December 14.

Then on December 21, Discover Nesters will use cleverly cut and linked folded paper circles to create a sphere-shaped 3-D paper ornament.

All are welcome to participate in these free Discovery Nest activities, but children must be accompanied by an adult over 18 at all times.

“Previous Discovery Nest activities were very popular with children and adults,” notes Crosby. “Youngsters and adults really enjoy creating and learning about origami. The pop-up cards for Father's Day and last year's holiday crafts were a huge hit with the kids.”

For additional information about the Discovery Nest program, contact Luann Crosby, associate librarian, 536-6220. NPC's Snowflake/Taylor campus is located at 1611 S. Main St.
