SNOWFLAKE — Youngsters, ages five to 12, can create unique craft projects and explosion greeting cards on Mondays in June, between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., during the free Discovery Nest program at Northland Pioneer College’s Snowflake/Taylor Silver Creek Campus library, 1611 S. Main St., in the Learning Center.

“All are welcome to participate in these free Discovery Nest activities, but children must be accompanied by an adult over 18 at all times,” notes Luann Crosby, NPC associate librarian and program coordinator. “When we offered Discovery Nest activities in June and December, they were very popular with children and adults,” continues Crosby. “We had youngsters creating and learning about origami. The explosion cards were a huge hit with the kids.”

On June 4, create a Wiper Card with a pop-up component that works somewhat like a windshield wiper. Youngsters can construct a personalized Father's Day Fridge Frame with a mosaic design on June 11.

On June 18, build a Pyramid-Shaped Box that transforms into an animal. Fashion an Explosion Greeting Card with an origami surprise on June 25.
