SHOW LOW — Learn the basic tools used for photo enhancement, retouching and restoration in an eight-week noncredit “Beginning Photoshop for Everyone” class on Tuesday evenings, Aug. 19 through Oct. 7, from 5:30 to 8:30, at Northland Pioneer College’s Show Low – White Mountain Campus, 1001 W. Deuce of Clubs.

Lloyd Pentecost, a professional photographer for 40 years, will be your guide in this easy and fun introduction to the basic tools found in all versions of Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. You’ll learn how to recover over- or under-exposed images, remove “redeye” with a simple click, remove dust spots and skin blemishes and other “tricks of the trade” using these popular software applications.

There is a $95 fee for the class. Basic computer experience is required.

Sign up for the Beginning Photoshop workshop (reference STC 099x-94295) at least three days before the class starts to ensure it is not cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Register at any NPC location or by phone, 524-7459 or (800) 266-7845 ext. 7459, during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.

For over 17 years Pentecost has taught Photoshop and incorporated the software application into a variety of media classes at The American Film Institute, Art Center College of Design and at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema Television. His business, A Different Picture, provides a variety of photographic service in the greater Pinetop-Lakeside area.
