Create personalized holiday gifts

Want to present a personalized beautiful, heirloom quality storybook to that special someone in your life this holiday season? Get started by enrolling in noncredit digital scrapbooking workshops at Northland Pioneer College’s Holbrook and Winslow campuses starting in August.

Instructors Shari McLaws (Winslow) and Stacy Nowell (Holbrook) are both certified Heritage Studio consultants. They’ll cover basic design rules for an eye-pleasing scrapbook page. Students will learn how to access Heritage Studio, a web-based publishing tool that offers flexibility, creativity, artwork and pre-designed templates. You’ll learn how to upload your personal photos, search for digital artwork and then utilize the “tools” in Heritage Studio to design pages. Students will self-edit and then publish their project. The $25 NPC course fee covers a basic project. Finished materials and additional art are available for an extra fee.

McLaws’ Winslow class (reference HCT 099x-34669) meets on the third Tuesday of each month, Aug. 21 through Nov. 20, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the Learning Center, room 135.

Nowell’s Holbrook class (reference HCT 099x-34667) meets in the Nizhoni Learning Center, room 141, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Aug. 27; Sept. 10, 24; Oct. 1, 15, 19; Nov. 19; and Dec. 3.

Enroll in these digital scrapbooking workshops at least a week before the class starts to ensure it is not cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Sign up at any NPC location during regular business hours, or by phone, (800) 266-7845 ext. 7459.
