26th Annual Juried High School Exhibit

This exhibit is a scholarship opportunity and is open to all high school students, regardless if they are currently enrolled in any art-related classes. The exhibit focuses on original two- and three-dimensional art and photography from area high school students, including home-schoolers.

Entries will be on display in the Talon Gallery in the Aspen Center on the Show Low - White Mountain Campus, March 9 through April 9. Jurors will be Northland Pioneer College faculty.

Schedule

February 21 – 24, 2012
  • Entries accepted at the Show Low – White Mountain Campus Front Office, Tuesday – Thursday, Feb. 21 – 23, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. No late entries accepted.
March 9
  • Show opens to the public with an Opening Reception honoring exhibiting students at the Talon Gallery, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. (MST). Awards presentation at 6:30 p.m. Students, family and teachers welcome!
March 9 – April 9
  • Exhibit on display in the Talon Gallery.
  • Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m.  to 7:30 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Closed March 26 - 30)
April 10 – 12
  • Pick up art work at the Aspen Center Campus Office, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (MST)
April 13
  • Pick up art work at the Aspen Center Campus Office, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (MST)

Awards

Tuition scholarships to be used toward payment of art class tuition at NPC will be awarded. These scholarships will be awarded without regard to media. *They are available to seniors only.

In addition to the tuition awards ribbons will be given as listed below:

  • 1st Place Each Category
  • 2nd Place Each Category
  • 3rd Place Each Category
  • Honorable Mention

Categories

  • 2-Dimensional: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Computer Illustration, Graphic Design
  • 3-Dimensional: Sculpture, Ceramics, Jewelry, Fiber Arts, Glass, Wood, Metal Art or any other 3D material.

Mixed media entires will also be accepted and eligible for awards in either 2D or 3D category.

Eligibility

This show is open to ANY high school student living in Navajo or Apache county (including home-school students).

Art work entered must be original designs. No copies of other artist's work will be accepted.

Et Cetera

  1. All work submitted must be framed and/or matted, mounted and ready to be displayed.
  2. Northland Pioneer College and its employees are exempt from liability for damage or theft of any work submitted to this exhibit, assuming their provision for reasonable security and care.
  3. Northland Pioneer College can not provide storage for any work left after the pickup dates.
  4. Entry forms (PDF) must be legible, completely filled out, and securely attached to the back of the work. Entries not having the form attached will not be accepted.
