College and Area Information: Northland Pioneer College is located at the doorstep of the American Southwest where the high desert meets the White Mountains of northeastern Arizona. Northland Pioneer College offers classes at four campuses and six centers across northeastern Arizona which includes the areas encompassed by three Native American tribes. Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Director Nursing and Allied Health Programs. Office located on either the White Mountain Campus in Show Low, AZ or the Little Colorado Campus in Winslow, AZ.

Required Qualifications:

• B.A./B.S. degree in allied health or a related field.
• Minimum of one year related occupational experience within the past five years in the practice or supervision of direct patient care.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating and providing services to individuals with barriers to employment in an employment and training and/or vocational education setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in an allied health field.
• One year's experience taching health-related courses.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Dean and faculty in developing, implementing, and evaluating allied health curriculum.
• Prepare and provide classroom instruction that is learner-centered and promotes participation in the learning process, emphasizing adult learning and critical thinking concepts. Select appropriate student assignments.
• Demonstrate knowledge and clinical competence in ambulatory and acute healthcare settings.
• Collaborate with faculty, students, and staff in facilities that provide clinical experience for allied health personnel.
• Act as a liaison with health care agencies and health care provider offices.
• Implement evaluation devices of student learning and clinical experience to measure progress and competency. Prepare and administer examinations; evaluate student progress; maintain records of student classroom and clinical experience.
• Selection of supplies and equipment integral to allied health education.
• Provide student advisement, hold office hours, and counsel students.
• Work with advisory committee to identify and meet the needs of the community pertaining to allied health care subject matter and courses.
• Advise and recruit prospective students.
• Serve on departmental and college committees.
• Provide mentoring and support of adjunct faculty.
• Communicate with the Dean and colleagues regarding student issues and progression in the program.
• Initiate and maintain active participation in professional development opportunities that encompass the discipline of allied health, and teaching effectiveness.

Compensation: Initial salary as set by the District Governing Board is $50,000, plus liberal fringe benefits, for a full-time, 12-month contract.
