Grant Adviser and Recruitment Specialist

Part-time, 20 hours per week

Reports to Early Childhood Department Chair in coordination with the Coordinator of High School Programs and Recruiting

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • 2 years student services-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years student services-related experience
  • Knowledge of the early childhood profession
  • Knowledge of the Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry
  • Experience conducting and supporting professional development planning.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide access to information and academic advising to students concerning grant participation, early childhood career opportunities, course registration, First Things First College Scholarships, other early childhood related scholarships, financial aid, graduation requirements, professional development goals, placement testing and students with disabilities referrals.
  2. Assist students with post-secondary planning and transfer activities.
  3. Refer students to appropriate offices for specialized services.
  4. Conduct individualized professional development planning with all grant participants, including supporting registration and scholarship applications.
  5. Serve on departmental and college committees as assigned.
  6. Recruit local organizations and coordinate services to provide space for conducting grant activities and instruction in communities of Navajo Nation.
  7. Present a positive image of the college to potential students and the public.
  8. Incorporate current marketing message and objectives into admissions presentations.
  9. Maintain up to date knowledge of all the programs and services offered at NPC.
  10. Be familiar with and able to direct grant participants, potential students, and community members on NPC’s website: www.npc.edu; The Arizona Early Childhood Workforce Registry; and AZ Transfer.
  11. Inform students about the educational opportunities available to them through NPC and assists them with the enrollment process.
  12. Continually develops and maintains positive relationships with high school personnel, guidance counselors, workforce, local early childhood providers, and community organizations.
  13. Keeps current an electronic calendar that contains scheduled site visits and events.
  14. Develops, organizes and maintains electronic records on every site visit made, tracks yield rates for each event, and makes this information readily available.
  15. Assist Grant Project Coordinator/Instructor with development and implementation of grant recruitment goals and strategies.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required License/ Certification

Valid Arizona driver's license.

Compensation

Initial salary range of $17,822.50 to $21,386.75, depending on education and experience.
