Program Coordinator – Emergency Medical Technology

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medicine, Paramedicine, Nursing, or Physician Assistant.
  • Five years’ experience in an Emergency and/or Prehospital setting.
  • Two years' teaching experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters’ Degree in allied health related field.
  • Five years combined teaching and administrative experience at post-secondary level.

Responsibilities

  1. Positively support and promote college governing board, administrator, faculty, staff, students & community.
  2. Actively assists with planning, marketing, implementation, direction and evaluation of high-quality services.
  3. Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours of Emergency Medical Technology courses and programs each semester at varied times and locations and using a variety of teaching delivery systems.
  4. Maintain accurate student and department records according to State and National regulations.
  5. Assist and comply with Registrars’ Office deadlines.
  6. Assess students for academic and clinical achievement.
  7. Produce a minimum of FTSE per program each semester, to be determined annually.
  8. Maintain compliance with state and national accreditation standards.
  9. Plan and develop both cognitive examinations and psychomotor scenarios for practical examinations.
  10. Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate curriculum including didactic instruction, lab and clinical/field experiences and skills practice.
  11. Prepare and administer assessments of student learning, to include writing cognitive examinations and psychomotor scenarios for practical examinations.
  12. Measure and evaluate student performance and devise methods for performance improvement.
  13. Coordinate Assessment of Student Knowledge plan, project, and report annually.
  14. Serve on the required accreditation Advisory Board, one College Committee, possibly an Arizona DHS committee, and the NAEMS steering and general committees.
  15. Provide input for and manage the EMS Department budget.
  16. Comply with Registrar scheduling requirements.
  17. Develop and maintain outreach and cooperative activities.
  18. Manage and evaluate the EMS Clerk, BLS Coordinator and EMS adjunct faculty.
  19. Order, maintain, and inventory supplies and equipment.
  20. Conduct and report Program Review every 3-5 years.
  21. Manage the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Training Center and all the certified instructors as both an Instructor-Trainer and Coordinator
  22. Perform other duties as required.

Compensation

Initial salary range dependent upon education and experience.
