NPC has implemented a program to improve student learning in internet-based classes. Students enrolled in an NPC internet class (POS 221 & 222 are exempt. These are considered Open Entry. The student must complete the course within one (1) year of the date they registered for the course.) for the first time are required to demonstrate or develop basic skills necessary for online learning. Students need to complete the Online Readiness Module by the end of the first week of class. Visit eresource.npc.edu/readiness for more information about the procedure and requirements.
 

Educational Technology for the Digital Age
CIS 286/EDU 286 • Educational Technology • 3 credits
Cost: Tuition + $45 Media Fee

This full semester course is designed to anchor the development of technology literacy for educators. The course modules include topics on e-learning, instructional design, distance education, International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards, and educational technology foundations. Students will develop an understanding of and gain working skills in educational technology and document their knowledge and skills using a digital portfolio.

  • Ph.D. in Educational Studies with an emphasis in Educational Technology from Ball State University, Muncie, IN.
  • Dr. Ma has been providing technical and pedagogical support and training for K-16 educators for 10+ years.
  • His expertise is in general educational computing, classroom technology integration and distance learning.
