BIO 100: Biology Concepts and Lab

A one-semester introductory course that covers basic principles and concepts of biology for non-majors. This course is designed for students who wish to study biology in order to fulfill general education credit requirements. BIO 100 will not satisfy prerequisite requirements for enrollment in advanced biology courses. Prerequisite: Satisfactory placement. 4 credits. Three hour lecture and three hour laboratory per week.

Biology 100 is a "hybrid" course.  The lecture component is offered via the Internet.  The required laboratory component will be conducted at the times/locations listed below given sufficient enrollment. You must travel to a campus for the laboratories. Concurrent enrollment in one of the following labs is required. 

* BioLab 95658: Little Colorado Campus in Winslow, Wednesday 6:30- 9:14 PM, or
* BioLab 95729: White Mountain Campus in Show Low, Friday 8:00-10:44 AM.

You must be an experienced Internet user who owns a personal computer with one of the following software configurations to take this course.  A high-speed Internet connection is necessary to support the graphics/video files used in the course.

You will need Adobe Reader, Macromedia Flash player, and Apple QuickTime player loaded on your computer.  All of these programs are free downloads.
