Certificate

The Certificate of Proficiency (CP) provides students with highly focused skills training or re-training in NPC occupational programs. By earning the CP you often can move toward testing and certification from national agencies in your field of choice. The certificate is a demonstration of learned skills in specific job areas when seeking employment in your career field.

The Certificate of Applied Science (CAS) focuses on the employment skills to prepare you for a career in your selected field. However, rather than taking the full spectrum of general education courses required to earn the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, the Certificate of Applied Science requires a minimum of 24 credits in your area of subject specialization and just six pre-specified units of general education. These general education credits, usually one mathematics course and one English course, provide you with the essential knowledge basic to any occupational field.
