ACADEMIC ADVISING

Advisors can provide students valuable guidance on how to reach their educational goals. Students can see an advisor at any campus or center. Appointments are recommended, but walk-in service is generally available.

Through the advising centers the following services are provided:

Assistance selecting classes
Developing degree/certificate plans
University transfer assistance
Form processing
Accessing information

Academic advising is:

A responsibility shared by the advisor and the student
Provided by an academic advisor or faculty mentor
An ongoing process in which the student meets with an advisor several times during each semester to discuss academic goals
Form processing
An opportunity for the student to discuss issues and concerns and to receive information and support
