ACADEMIC ADVISING
Advisors can provide students valuable guidance on how to reach their educational goals.
Students can see an advisor at any campus or center. Appointments are recommended, but
walk-in service is generally available.
Through the advising centers the following services are provided:
- Assistance selecting classes
- Developing degree/certificate plans
- University transfer assistance
- Form processing
- Accessing information
Academic advising is:
- A responsibility shared by the advisor and the student
- Provided by an academic advisor or faculty mentor
- An ongoing process in which the student meets with an
advisor several times during each semester to discuss academic goals
- Form processing
- An opportunity for the student to discuss issues and concerns and to
receive information and support
