Purchasing Books

Books can be purchased in several ways. At your local campus or center you can buy:

  1. By cash or check
  2. By credit card
  3. Through Financial Aid
  4. Through a third party (a company or organization's letter of authorization to pay for books)
  5. Through eCashier. More information on how to use this new service will be added soon...for now, it can be accessed by clicking the logo. ecashier

You can also check commercial web sites to find the books you need:

Search for textbook by course

You can browse through the books listed for your texts and manuals for the classes you are taking this semester.

Book buyback

The Northland Pioneer College Bookstore pays up to 50% of the retail price for books that meet the textbook buyback conditions. Textbook Buyback Conditions:

  1. The textbook is scheduled for use in the following semester.
  2. Additional quantities of the textbook are needed to meet projected course enrollment.
  3. The textbook contains all originally-included required software.
  4. The textbook is in good condition: no water damage, no excessive highlighting, no excessive wear, no missing pages or covers.
  5. The textbook is not a workbook, with blanks filled in or problems worked.
  6. The textbook does not have perforated pages.

The bookstore reserves the right to decide which books will be bought for store use. An independent book company may purchase textbooks that are not being adopted for the next semester or are not needed for bookstore inventories but meet the other textbook buyback conditions. The Northland Pioneer College Bookstore does not set the independent book company's prices.

Search for Textbook by Course to check the buyback status of a specific textbook. An X in the buyback field indicates that the bookstore will buy back the text as a used book.

Return Policy

Book Return guidelines: Students may receive a full refund for books returned within the first two weeks of class if they have a current receipt and the books are in their original condition. After that the books can be returned at the buyback price (50%) only if they are on the Buyback List and in good condition.
