Check Out / Borrow - college library card needed:

Borrowers are responsible for items checked out on their card.

  • Books and audio cassettes may be returned one time, unless there is Hold/Request on the item or unless the person owes $5.00 or more.
  • Bring the book or cassette to the nearest NPC library or phone the library and give the complete title and NPC library barcode number.
  • Items can be returned at any NPC library. Place items in labeled return areas. Do not lay on the desk.
  • Outside book returns are available at most locations.

  • Borrowers must pay for replacement costs.
  • Bills not paid within 21 days are charged an additional non-refundable $5.00 fee.
  • Students will have a Hold placed on their college record.

  • Borrowers must pay $2.00 fee for repairs.
  • Borrowers will be charged the replacement cost for items that cannot be repaired.
  • Bills not paid within 21 days are charged an additional non-refundable $5.00 fee
  • Students will have a Hold placed on their college record.

  • If a borrowed item is due or late and someone has requested it, a recall notice will be sent.
  • Item should be returned immediately.
  • A late fee of $3.00 per day will be charged with a maximum fee of $21.00. Grace period of 3 days before fee is charged. The grace period does not apply to Reserves – fees begin immediately.

  • Requests for items owned by NPC are made via the online Library Catalog.
  • Click on the Hold/Request icon in the Copy Tab. Fill out the form. Barcode from your library card is required.
  • When library contacts you that item has arrived, please pick it up immediately. Items not picked up within 5 days will be returned to the shelf.

  • Microfiche will only be sent to campus libraries where microfiche reader/printers are available.
  • Requests from centers will be filled by a printed copy at 10¢/page. Please read the title record to know how many pages will be printed.
  • Microfilm will not be sent to other libraries. Print copies will be sent for the student. Cost is 10¢/page.
