IS Technician I

Non-Exempt,  T-Level I
Organizational Relationship: Reports to the Lead Technician
Location: Painted Desert Campus, Holbrook, Arizona
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and
  • Industry standard computer certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, CISCO, etc.)
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in pulling a variety of network and telephone cabling.
  • Installing computer equipment and software (including patches and service pack updates).
  • Work with the Help Desk to resolve support calls and being part of a team that provides excellent customer service.
  • Install distributed systems, network equipment, and software using a wide array of software and operating system deployment tools.
  • Maintain and repair computer and data communication equipment and software using various remote access and management applications.
  • Perform appropriate data entry, record keeping and correspondence/documentation.
  • Install auxiliary equipment for systems and networks.
  • Cross-discipline support for other Information Services departments and specialties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Critical sensory requirements include general vision (corrected to 20/20), hear and listen in the normal range (corrected), and speak and give general directs clearly.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a keyboard and/or CRT
  • Ability to maneuver and work in small or confined work area
  • Ability to safely access equipment using a ladder.
  • Ability to life and carry equipment that may weigh 50 lbs for more than 100 yards.
Required License/ Certification:
  • Valid Arizona driver's license.
Compensation: Initial salary range for this position is $26,353.60 to $32,011.20, depending on prior experience and education.
