Accreditation
Accreditation is a process that is designed to assure the public of an institution's integrity and high quality of services. It recognizes that the college meets or exceeds the standards and expectations established by the accreditation agency. Northland Pioneer College is seeking re-accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the
North Central Association.
NPC is currently working on a self-study of the college for the next Higher Learning Commission visit, scheduled for October 26-28, 2009. This process includes an examination of the institution in all of its aspects: its mission, educational activities, business practices, governance structure, facilities, planning for the future, relationships with our communities and our responses to their educational needs. How effectively we fulfill our mission determines the type and length of re-accreditation we receive. NPC has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission since October 1979.
The NPC mission statement is, "NPC creates, supports and promotes lifelong learning."
