Orientation Classes for Taking the GED

RECOMMENDED for all students seeking GED and MANDATORY for those new to TLC. Introduction to the Learning Cornerstone and its classes. Students take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to assess skill levels in reading, mathematics and language, as well as complete a writing sample to assess writing capabilities. High skill levels in all three areas will advance student to TLC 058. Those not scoring high enough will be referred to take TLC classes to practice skills needed to pass the GED.

TLC 058 • Orientation to GED       0.5 credit

Introduction to the General Education Development (GED) test topics, timeline and procedures. Students may take the official GED Practice Test and/or other test skills diagnostics including TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education). Instructor and student develop a study plan to prepare for GED test.

Prerequisite: Satisfactory placement.
